Snake In Fire

Oct 24, 2021

It’s a funny thing about a snake in a fire. If you are compassionate about animals and reptiles and are compelled to save the snake from its impending death, you might be surprised at its response is to your heroic efforts.

Try to reach in the fire and save it and it’s going to try to bite you. So you try again anyway and accept the fact that you’re getting bitten cause you know the snake is always gonna bite cause that’s what they do. This is what we call a Quality Decision. This is different than your average decision as it accepts the inevitability of challenge and failure and commits to going after something anyway.

Now, why would one make such a decision to reach for the snake knowing that it comes with a bite? Well, it’s all in the value of the goal. When we have a big enough reason to rescue the snake, like perhaps the need of its venom to craft an antidote for your child that the snake bit prior, then we go anyway.

See, it’s not the hard tasks required to reach goals that we give up on. It’s the goal we give up on. It’s not big enough. Set a goal that is as important as the air you desire when drowning. You gladly accept the vote and whatever else comes with it. Dream big my friends!
