On Being Rich

Oct 18, 2021

"He who needs riches the least enjoys riches the most."
Epicurious

I believe this quote was meant to explain how it’s he who has learned to live with nothing that appreciates everything and anything. When it comes to the idea of being rich with an abundance of finances, you’ll find that there is no such amount of money that satisfies the wealthy man as he always sets his eyes on more. It’s the man that has learned to live well and find his riches in life itself that will appreciate any amount of increased income that blesses his wallet.

I find this in my life right now. As I am experiencing great financial success and freedom in my businesses and investments. Each time I receive news of a level up and increase in my finances to a new level I’ve yet to achieve, my programmed mind immediately passes the new achievement and looks further into the future, and desires the next level.

I understand this is a natural part of the way we are wired and the idea of always looking forward and striving to reach new levels of growth makes sense. However, I use my IRS system to pause along the way and smell the roses 🌹 in appreciation and gratitude so as not to miss the beauty found in the journey.

I’ve learned to take my focus off the things I have not in the new outcome of success and my inevitable immortality. I then embrace the present moment which includes the abundance of all I have. At this moment, I embrace having you as a supportive friend and, from that place, I hope this message lands for you in the right way at the right time.
